Job Description:

Sync Computing is searching for a full-time Data/ML Cloud Solutions Engineer located in Cambridge, MA. Full-remote positions are also acceptable within the United States.

As a Data/ML Cloud Solutions Engineer, you will be part of a growing interdisciplinary team and will work closely with other world-class engineers to build, test, and deploy cutting-edge distributed software packages on the cloud. We are looking for someone who loves diving into code, working with complex systems, helping customers, and building solutions. The responsibilities and qualifications of the position include:


  • Support early customers of our Sync Apache Spark solution and help design Sync’s core product offering
  • Actively listen to customers and show empathy to the customer’s business impact when they experience issues with our products
  • Coordinate enhancement and feature requests with product management and engineering groups
  • Develop and test software updates for product enhancements
  • Research opportunities to add value to customer experience and platform expansions beyond Apache Spark
  • Engage with open source communities to foster developer interests

Qualifications & Skills

  • 2+ years experience working with Apache Spark cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS EMR, Databricks)
  • 1+ years experience working in customer facing role
  • 2+ years experience of software development (Bash, Python, Scala, SQL, R)
  • Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills, a strong desire to learn, be self-directed, and be motivated to work in a fast paced start-up environment.
