Job Description:
Sync Computing is searching for a full-time distributed systems software engineer located in Cambridge, MA. Remote positions will also be considered. You will be part of a growing interdisciplinary team and will work closely with other world-class engineers to build, test, and deploy cutting-edge distributed software packages. We are looking for someone who loves diving into open-source software projects, working with complex systems, rapid prototyping, and testing.
Responsibilities include:
- Help integrate our core technology into existing open-source compute orchestration platforms (e.g., Apache Airflow, Apache Yunikorn, Kubernetes, etc..).
- Build rapid system-level prototypes and iterate based on customer feedback.
- Work closely with Product & Engineering teams to transition prototype systems into production.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. computer science, electrical engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of software engineering or research experience
- Proficient in Python, C++, or other major programming languages.
- Familiarity with modern data analytics/ML platforms (Spark, PyTorch, sk-learn, etc.)
- Open minded problem solving skills – able to explore different methods given a goal.
- Self driven, ability to effectively communicate in a remote work environment.
- Preferable:
- Experience in Airflow or other similar workflow managers.
- Experience reading and modifying large open source software projects.
- Experience in gRPC or REST APIs
